Mothergoose is an established Thai brand specializing in furniture for infants and children. Their pieces are well-crafted and aim to bring delight and comfort for generations, balancing warmth with clean modernity. Studiomake sought to bring these same sensibilities to the conversion of a formerly residential 4-story townhouse at Soi Nai Lert into their new flagship location combining a retail operation with offices and workshops.
We peeled back the entire original facade and brought a open connection to the busy road nearby as well as allowing northern light to reach as deep as possible into the narrow spaces. A dramatic front door marks the entrance and emphasizes the double height retail space. The custom shelving is based on a modular system of laminated maple planks and allows for a variety of display and storage options. Natural materials such as stone, wood, and cork provide a warmth to the space and a neutral palette allows the vibrant patterns and engaging objects to be well displayed.
