porcelain vases broken with a hammer, black and white thread
7" diameter x 14" tall
This work started with a simple curiosity: What is the shape of a void?
By wrapping a broken vase with fine thread, that void was given a physical
and tangible surface. While making these pieces, I also began to question
how a generic, store-bought, mass-produced item could be given the chance
to have its own character and fingerprint.
