Gravity
Our work is rooted in the process of layering and unveiling site, of un-surfacing the obscure conditions of a site through the things we make. We are bound by the force of gravity; the ground plane, in its persistence and permanence, gives awareness to our work.
Friction
The act of making is a calibration of frictions. Friction is a necessary force in the making of form. Friction reveals the nature of things-- that there are resistive forces embodied in the intersection of objects, and that these forces must be tuned so that a connection may occur.
Craft
Our work deals with craft and the act of making at varying levels of intimacy. In making, we probe the depths of our aptitude and find new capabilities within. In making, we can exploit the latent energy and infinite potential that exists between a tool and raw material, graphite and a blank sheet, a problem and its inevitable solution.
